| MiniBio |
Andrea Cordaro, a native of New Paltz, NY, has been performing for over 10 years. At 16, she began her professional career. She earned her first Equity points performing along side Broadway veterans at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival in Antony and Cleopatra. She was accepted into Manhattanville College's Dance and Theater Department and given the Ophir Talent Award. There she had the chance to study with actress Talia Shire.
After earning her degree in Theater, Andrea relocated to New York and soon acquired her first Off Broadway credits, performing at The Abingdon Theater. At the same time she discover an unexpected talent for comedic writing, and began to perform and direct her original sketch comedy in clubs all over New York with all female sketch groups Our Friend Mandy, and Nomansland. She branched out into comedic improv and was cast in The Red Tie Mafia, New York's premier short form improv company. She is also currently a part of the critically acclaimed ensemble of Off Off Broadway's The Rising Sun Performance Company.
Though Andrea's first love is the theater she has also found an incredible passion for film. She's worked on many films, shorts and features alike, in many genres. Along with her brother, Francesco Cordaro, she went on to found Fusion Box Films. Their first project was a “Thriller-style” music video called The World, which was shot on location at Kevin McCurdy's Haunted Mansion. They then went on to produce a commercial with director Kelly Doyle for Doritos Crash The Super Bowl which made the semi finals. Around this time Andrea landed a featured role on The Onion Sports Dome on Comedy Central. But to her dismay, the role winded up on the cutting room floor. However the project has made her eligible for AFTRA. Andrea's last film, Animus (Dir. Laura Bahr, 211 Productions) won the judges award at The Eli Jaffe Film Competition. Currently FBF is developing the comedic feature "Save Dave".
