In Yasmina Reza's "Art," the friendship of three men is put to the test when one of them, Serge, buys a modern art painting for an insane sum of money. His best friend, Marc, hates the painting and cannot believe Serge would do such a thing without first consulting him. Their younger, soon to be married, neurotic friend Yvan tries to mediate the situation, but loses it and suffers a breakdown. In the end, it comes down to which is more important, the painting, or old friendships. |
